Starting a thread for all those applying to UConn's CEIN program for the 2021 cohort. I know this is WAY in advance... but hey, might as well get this rolling! Maybe we can post some advice for prereqs, and application process in the meantime!
Hi Everyone,
I noticed that we need to have our CPR certification and was not sure if we needed to take the CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers course, or if the BLS for Healthcare Providers was all that we needed? What do all of you have?
I have seen both listed online and am not sure which one we actually need.
Thanks!

It's BLS for Healthcare Providers.
I am just about to apply for the 2022 cohort. I did my undergraduate degree in Creative Writing and graduated with a 3.97 GPA. I have taken Concepts of Chem and AP I and got As for both. I am past fall 2020 midterms now for Gen Bio I, AP II and Stats and currently have all As for these but hovering around 94.1. Spring semester 2021 I am taking Micro Bio, Genetics, and Intro to Nutrition (as well as a CLEP for Human Growth and Dev). I hope to continue my 4.0 GPA. I have worked as a home health aide under the table for the past six months. I also plan to go online and complete free certifications with FEMA, the CDC and others for my resume (about $5 for each cert) in topics like emergency management and obesity training. My references will be from an old college professor and personal ones. I am decent at writing and think I could write a well planned statement. What are my chances of getting in? Do they look for volunteer work? What was your experience applying and were you accepted? thanks
