I don't think I will continue to purse the externship. I just got off the phone with UCLA and they still cannot give a timeframe for when we will be notified of being accepted or not. Also, the position is just a fancy way of saying we are a CNA. We are not going to be providing any care beyond the scope of a nursing assistant. It does not make sense for me to cut down hours at my current CNA job just to do the same work without pay at UCLA. I'm bummed, because it would have looked nice on my resume!
I agree with you Padded, but I really want to have a chance to work in a hospital in California. I am living in Illinois and planning to move to California fresh out of nursing school. I will be graduating in December 2015, so I dont have a lot of time to find connection for my first job in California. I got an internship in Illinois though, but UCLA still my first choice. Did anyone hear anything from them yet?

Hi,
I applied to the UCLA Nursing Externship 2015 a month ago. I recently got all of my reference completed their reference survey. Does anyone know the next steps the nurse recruiters do?
Thanks
