UCLA MECN FALL 2013

U.S.A. California

Have been looking around and haven't really seen a topic on this yet. This is my dream school/program. I am from Seattle so I am having to get a lot of info from them long-distance instead of going to an information session. Has anyone gone to an information session yet?

SUBMITTED!!! oh my gosh...

Same here. Feels great to be finished. However, I have a history of finding errors in my personal statement AFTER I submit important documents. haha

Hi guys! I'm finding trouble copy and pasting my essay into the SOP field.

I was wondering if anyone typed their Statement of Purpose in the field in the application - or - created it as a pdf/word doc to upload under "Supporting Documents Upload".

Thanks!

You have to use Firefox or Internet Explorer to copy and paste. No Safari or Chrome. I had the same problem.

You can also put it in Supporting Documents as a PDF double spaced is preferred. I am going to do both.

Nice! Yeah I'm able to copy and paste now. Thank you @choe.cm

SENT IT! I am nervous that I messed up on something, but it's too late now. Be sure you guys are sending it in by Nov. 1 EST, so 9:00 PM on the west coast. Wouldn't want you guys not getting it in because it was too late.

Also, does anyone know how the fee waiver part works? I attached my document from my financial aid office and I expected to pay for the fee and get it refunded after it has been reviewed by the admissions office. Instead, I didn't pay and my payment type on the voucher says "Fee Waiver." I am in the clear right?

Congrats on submitting! Looks like it's the waiting game for all of us now! @choe.cm I think as long as you get the email confirmation on submitting the app you should be in the clear. Cheers!

Submitted my app and happy it's finally over and done with. Now just have to wait and see.

Anybody know how many people will be accepted in this cohort ?

I believe the class size will still be at 90. Depending how the committee operates, it could offer more acceptances than that (for yield protection), then dip into the waiting list. Or they could outright accept 90--the open spaces (if any) will go to the waiting list.

Does anyone else find it weird how dead this thread is compared to the previous years?

Either way, I'm a UCLA undergraduate alumni and I just sent in my application for the MECN program yesterday. I just looked through UCLA nursing's website one last time and pictures of the white coat ceremony are making me beyond excited and incredibly nervous!

Good luck to everyone who applied. Hopefully we'll have a chance to meet next fall! :)

And now we wait. Seriously though, congrats & best of luck to everyone who applied! Also, thanks to all who answered questions for all of us these past few weeks. Fingers crossed :)
