Hello everyone! I need some advice! I've been planning on doing the concurrent program with UCF since before I even got accepted into my current nursing program, right now I'm halfway through my second semester of my ADN program. I just applied this last weekend for acceptance to the UCF concurrent BSN program (which I've heard is guaranteed admission as long as you meet the requirements, which I do)... so now I need to decide if it's something I really want to do. I'm torn because the college I currently go to does have an RN to BSN program that I could do in 1 year after graduating with my ADN, and the UCF program is about the same length even though I'd also be taking one class at a time while I'm still in school for my ADN over Summer of 2021. So do I really want to take on more work right now? I would really like to have the experience of going to a university though, even if it is just online. I do also plan on later going to NP school, I'm not sure if they care if my BSN is from a state college vs. a university.
Does anyone have any experience with the UCF concurrent BSN programs? I'm just very curious to hear what the workload is like from people who have gone through it.

An excellent question! Although it is not formally published, we can edit your plan of study to complete the BSN very quickly after completing the ASN. Just send me an email!

What did you decide to do? I am looking into this program myself, wondering what the workload is like? Thanks for any input!

I ended up not doing it. But not because of the program itself. I had to send in my newest transcripts because I didn’t realize the ones I had sent to them previously showed my last prerequisite as in progress, instead of complete. I paid to have my transcripts sent to UCF, called the school of nursing to ask them if they received them, who said I needed to speak to admissions. So when I called admissions they said it would take at least 3 weeks to get my new transcripts in the computer (even though they were electronic?) and sent to the school of nursing... but the school of nursing needed my revised transcripts within 7 days and admissions (or maybe it was records? I don’t remember exactly) was adamant that they couldn’t get them in any sooner! This majorly bummed me out for a while, but I think it was a blessing in disguise because I really needed a break this Summer from my ADN program and I decided it wouldn’t have been a good idea to add to my current work load anyways. It also works out because you have to stay in a compact state while attending UCF, but with the state college I go to you can move anywhere in the country while in their BSN program, and there’s a good chance I’ll move to California before I finish my BSN. So it all worked out!
I’m sorry I don’t have more specific advice when it comes to the actual program! Whichever way you decide to go, I wish you luck!
