Uccs or Regis

U.S.A. Colorado

Hello all, I am looking into UCCS or Regis University to go to nursing school can anybody put any insight on these schools. I live in fountain,co.

I don't know much about UCCS-you may want to check their NCLEX pass rates.

Regis is an awesome school. If you start the 4 year program and your GPA stays high enough, you are automatically in the nursing program after your 4th semester. It is great not to worry about being wait-listed!

The curriculum is not easy, but they leave you well prepared to pass NCLEX and as well prepared as possible for a nursing career. They have a good pass rate, the clinicals are all (except community nursing and foundations) in major hospitals where you can make good connections for future jobs. The instructors are mostly awesome (the anatomy professor I had was horrible, but she is gone now) and they recently switched from ATI to Kaplan for NCLEX prep, which is a fantastic prep program. The administration is easily accessible if you have any issues, the faculty advisors are wonderful.

I really can't say enough good things about Regis. One flaw-group projects. They really suck! But I think all schools do that.

Financial aid is pretty easily accessible. If you are straight out of HS and your GPA is high enough, you get around 12k a year in scholarship and if your SAT is high enough, you get another 2k. If you are graduating from a Catholic HS, you get an automatic 1k. There are Regis grants if you qualify and student loans of course. It costs (or did cost) around 33k a year before the financial aid, I had 5k in loans annually and nothing out of pocket.
