Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows good specialities that work for a mom with kids in school schedule .I don't want to hire a babysitter, it costs too much, and want to look for something that could work between 9-330 PM hours .

I have done private duty nursing and Med-Surg for years . Private duty is OK, but I still need spouse help for the early morning hours , and his work is getting more demanding and he can't help me more than 2 days a week.

Anyone work as a UAS nurse ? Remote or hybrid? Med Scribe or Maximus or Health First?

Or anyone have feedback as a home health infusion nurse ? Or can you work as a visiting home health nurse within school hours ( so you drive to many cases per day)? Thank you!  Please any help I would love!

What about School Nursing?  If you are looking for school hours-School Nursing also has you off on weekends and school breaks.

Thanks. Yes school can be a possibility but I'm only used to adult nursing ... some agencies have fill in work like cover a school nurse during their lunch break, but I'm not comfortable really. I guess I could ask the agency if I could train with a school nurse ? Anyone hear of that ?  Thanks!

You could fit visits in between the hours of 9 am and 3:30 pm as a home health visiting nurse (most patients don't want to be seen prior to 9 am anyway), but you will most likely bring home a lot of documentation. I did it as a new nurse and was completely overwhelmed. I did not find it to be very family friendly. However, you have a lot of nursing experience, and there are many nurses who love it. If you are able to complete documentation in the patient's home (I struggled with that), or if you don't mind bringing work home with you, it could be a good option. Try to find a reputable agency that does not have you traveling too far. I often got home much later than 3:30 because I was traveling to homes that were about an hour away. It was not a good fit for me,  but it could be a good fit for you!

There is also the possibility of doing PDN in the school setting, and there are agencies willing to train. Do some searches on Indeed, and see what is in your area.

Good luck to you! ?
