UAB CRNA Summer 2017

Published

Hi everybody

I just wanted to start a thread for UAB Summer 2017 start date since I haven't seen one yet. Feel free to delete if there is one already.

I received my notice for interview in December back in October. Since this is the first year UAB is admitting students for their DNP program, I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about their interview process?

I've looked up some past posts about their interview process and it seems that it has been more personal than it is clinical. I believe I read mostly personal (why CRNA, how prepared are you, etc.) and just 1 clinical (tell me about a drug). Does anyone current SRNA or those who have sat for UAB interviews have any insight on the interview process?

Any input will be greatly appreciated! Also, anyone else going for this program interviewing around the same time?

I plan to apply for 2018 start, so will start getting my application together soon. Sorry I can't help with anything, but I do have a couple questions.

Do you mind posting your stats - I'm nervous about only having 1.5 years ICU experience at interview time. Also, is the DNP optional right now? I do plan to contact the school in the next few weeks to have them look over my transcripts. I know of one guy who was declined an interview for missing a class. His sister wasn't sure which class, but I'm thinking stats since some schools don't require it.

UAB is my 1st choice since I would only have to do about the 1st year away from home and could finish up in my hometown. I'm also thinking of applying elsewhere and moving.
