U of ALA and U of N.Ky online NP. Your thoughts??

Published

I am considering appyling to University of N Ky and U of Alabama-Birmingham's online NP programs. Both require you to have your clinical evaluations with faculty. One visits you where you are and the other makes you go there for the evals. I have to admit that is still a little hands on for me. the preceptor is supposed to write it I think. Has anyone ever attended either of these online NP programs and had to go to the university for the faculty to do the evals or had them come to you? How did it work ? Was the eval basically going over what the preceptor wrote, or was it another completely different/seperate eval done by the faculty? Do they quiz you when the faculty comes to evaluate you? I'd just as soon the preceptor do it completely. Barinbass.

I attended NKU went on campus for a evaluation and it is no big deal, I found the clinical faculty were there to help you not crucify you. I believe at most grad programs they require faculty evaluation and honestly it does not hurt to have more than one persons input on your progress. I was given a choice either spend a day up there doing clinical or pay the expenses of a clinical faculty to come to where I was. I chose to go there and go visit relatives in WVA when I was finished
