Typical schedule for MCC nursing program

Hey All-

I have been on the Maricopa community college waiting list for over a year now and am hoping to get into a program in January. I have 3 small children and will need a baby sitter, so I'm trying to get a general idea of what my week would look like if I did the day program at MCC or SCC or CGCC. Will I need to plan on having a baby sitter 4 days a week all day, or will there be any short days? I know every school is probably a bit different and clinicals can change depending on where I'm scheduled, but a general idea of how many hours I'll be away would be great. Thanks.

For Block One, lecture, lab, and clinical days are typically about 6 hours long. Count on 3 days per week for the above (1 day for each; lecture, skills lab, & clinical).

I just got accepted into the program in March 2009 and will be starting in the fall. They say the typical schedule is two days of lecture and 1-2 days of lab/clinicals. I was on the waiting list for a year and a half :crying2:.

Good Luck

In general, I would have a plan that can accomodate Monday-Friday, 0700-1800. The class times are fairly easy to plan. The problem consists of clinicals - sometimes they are all over the map and require a degree of flexibility. So class days may be 0900-1500. Easy. But your clinicals can sometimes go from 6 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon one semester (Mondays/Wed) and then change to 8 am to 7 pm two days a week the next. Some blocks (Block 3 in particular) can get even more complicated...Be flexible and prepare for the worst...

hi i am in the same situation and was wondering what did you end up doing?

thank you.
