TX Licensure Delinquency

Hi Friends!
I'm posting this for a fellow nurse friend who just realized (this morning) that her RN license is in delinquency.

General info: She received her RN license in 2019 & has only renewed 1x since. She was due to renew this year (license expired 4/30/23) but mistakenly thought that it didn't expire until next year. She is a hospice nurse. The HR Coordinator at the company she's employed by reached out early this morning to make her aware of the fact that she's essentially been practicing without a license since 4/30/23. She says she didn't receive any kind of reminder or notification that the license was about to expire (I get my personal notifications via NURSYS, but that's something I signed up for on my own). She did contact TBON this morning & was told to go thru the website & attempt to renew the license, then answer the questionnaire & provide a reason for allowing the license to go into delinquency. It did ask on the questionnaire if she had been practicing nursing during the delinquency period & she was told by TBON Rep to mark "YES" (since she has been, unknowingly). She also submitted her CEs at the request of TBON & was told that she could expect to hear back within 10-15 business days.

I am posting in hopes that someone else has some insight or could share what their experience was like with this situation or something similar. She is worrying herself sick about potentially losing her RN license or TBON perusing legal action since she's been practicing unlicensed for the past +\- 6 months.

PLEASE HELP, NURSE FRIENDS!

Any response will be so greatly appreciated!
Thank you all in advance for reading this ultra long-winded post!
