TWU Spring 2020 FNP/WHNP Students (Dallas Campus)

Nursing Students NP Students

Published

I was recently accepted to the WHNP program at TWU's Dallas campus. I was wondering if there are any other Dallas campus future NP students out there that will be starting in Spring of 2020?

Hi! I was also accepted to the Spring 2020 WHNP program! I have some questions ?

Do we have to do anything to accept the offer? Or since it's unconditional we don't have to do anything?

What do we do next? Do we just register for class on October 29 and eventually sign up for orientation that will be in November?

Thanks!

I have questions too. I don’t know if we accept anything either. I called to find out about orientation and some lady told me it was at 9 on 11/12. Did they tell you that as well? The lady didn’t sound very confident in her answer. I emailed Dr ***** to verify that and to ask if we register after orientation, but she hasn’t responded. ?

The only information on like orientation and registration I have gotten is from their acceptance page. I thought about calling and emailing Dr. ****** too but I haven't had time and I thought I'd wait a bit because I was thinking there's probably going to be several people emailing her with questions since there's no clear direction on what to do next. And I'm thinking they'll probably email us too with the next steps hopefully. But please share whatever Dr. ****** tells you ?

I saw that the class registration date for graduates for Spring 2020 is October 29 on the website and that would be before orientation. But I don't how we know exactly which classes to register. Like I assume we'll probably talk to our advisor to make our degree plan before registering for class.

Are you planning on doing the program part-time or full-time?

Yeah, I’m not sure if they have a particular course order we need to follow, or if we just sign up for what’s open. I’m not sure if I’ll do PT or FT, guess it depends on how much time we have to spend on campus. Do you have any idea on how much of the program is online vs in the classroom?

From when I asked someone from the graduate admissions office a couple of months ago, she told me that the majority of the didactic or pre-requisite, like general advanced nursing classes, are online and then once we branch off to our specialty (WHNP) classes it would be face-to-face. But I don't know if that has changed because from another TWU thread I've seen for FNP Spring 2020, the Denton campus is changing the FNP to all online and now it's going to cost more. So I don't know if that'll be for all the campuses and programs too. Because I know TWU is supposed to be cheaper than UTA.

Well if you find any information out about registration, orientation, etc., let me know.

Hey!

So I recently got an email on my personal email about orientation on November 12, 2019 and it requires a response to confirm your attendance.

And then I got an email on my TWU email with my degree plan to register for classes at the orientation.

Did you get both of these emails?

I responded to that email from ****** about orientation. I just checked my twu email and I got the one that says my first 2 classes will be pathology and theory. Are those the same for you?

I responded too to confirm my attendance at orientation but I didn't get any confirmation email back that she received my email. Did you? I am assuming we probably have to wear business casual for the orientation? I asked in my email but she hasn't responded yet.

And yes, I'm also planning on taking pathology and theory. It looks like one is online and one is in class.

I got an email back when I responded. I see it blocked out who I said I responded to on this thread. If you want to email me directly, I can tell you who I sent the email to. My email is [email protected].

I actually got a confirmation email back a couple of days ago. But thank you for offering to help! And she said in the email that business is casual is "fine" making sound like it's not really mandatory but I'll probably be wearing business casual anyways.
