I am trying to get all my prereqs completed by Dec. 2010 so I can apply for the 2011 TWU entering class. (I am a second degree student, so either fast track or regular or weekend.) Unfortunately, I will probably have to take most, if not all, of my science classes online. Does TWU discount online science courses?
Also, I did not take government when I was in college. However, I went to law school and have a J.D. and so know probably everything or almost everything that is taught in US government and TX government courses. Do you think I could get credit for those two classes, or test out of them? What about my AP credits for English and U.S. History, will they accept them? (I've emailed the school but haven't heard back yet and am eager to get some answers!) Thanks in advance for your help!

Most online courses actually have an online fee attached. This is an extra fee. I guess the college thinks it is a privelege to be able to not attend a scheduled lecture and take tests in your underwear. Most science courses also need a lab, not sure if that is online.
If you have taken a class equal to a class required at a college, sometimes they will give you credit for it. Some also let you test out. Most college websites have course numbers and their equivilencies to another college, you can just search in that website.:nuke:

Hey, I go to TWU also.
I think you have to pay extra for online classes.
Also, I do not believe online science classes are really offered in the sciences (A&P, Microbiology, Chemistry). I think they might do an online Nutrition, but I'm not completely sure.
You would have to talk to the school about testing out of classes, I'm sure they can work something out.
Also, don't forget, as a second degree student if you complete 16 hours of the required sciences/misc at TWU you get an extra .4 added to you pre-nursing GPA.

I would take the classes at a community college-its like $120 for 3 credits vs. $1000 at a univeristy. I don't know about the AP credit, sorry. good luck!
