Do you still get a regular paycheck, are you told how many hours, or days, or shifts you have to work, Is it really worth it, Im in IL, and am getting ready to enter a CNA, class. In all the hospitals I worked you had to take the class first and after the class was over you had to turn in a copy of the receipt you paid for the tuition as well as a copy of the the final transcript proving we completed the class and got a passing grade. In some hospitals we were not reimbursed if we got a grade below a "C". Also, most employers put a cap on the amount they paid within a calendar year--never more than $1,000. We had to be a full-time employee to get this benefit.

I think maybe you might be looking for loan repayment or loan forgiveness plans.

my sister-in law did tuition reimbursement... she signed an 18 month contract and got 3,000 bucks a year for 2 years. She had to prove that she passed her first semester with a c or better in each class.. and that was it. oh yeah and if you want out ... you have to pay back in full all the money they gave you.. at least that's how it was 4 years ago.
