I took the NCLEX my first time June 21st and it was the most stressful thing I have ever done. I didn't not feel comfortable at all taking it. I took the kaplan course but it didn't seem that the strategies they recommended were enough for me. I have trouble picking the right answer after narrowing it down to two. I think my problem areas are Endocrine, Renal, Chest tubes. I get alot of things mixed up with Hypo and Hyperthyroidism, Hypo and Hyperglycemia, and Cushings and Addisons. I have a weakness in priority questions when they are between pain and infection and the ABCs do not apply. I am a very visual learner. Anyone have any pictures of the things I have mentioned that may help me or very simple explanations of them. I'm just not getting it. I take it again in August. thanks in advance :)
I believe you are weak on the core content aspect of the NCLEX; I passed the NCLEX on July 2009 after studying with Hurst Review for approximately three months which is the time I paid for using her online course. She has a system or lectures that a student "rents" unlimitted access to them with a 3-4. The course costs $300.0 and you can take online which is cheaper then the live course which is the same information but taught either by Ms. Hursts or one of her instructors to a group of nursing students. I liked the online course better than the live lectures for I could see/read the lectures from the comfort of my own computer at home and at my convenience as much as I wanted and to the point that actually I learned the information. At the end of the lectures I had to take a mock NCLEX exam consisting of 125 questions. After I took the test and graded, I saw a discussion of the questions on the exam. That discussion was excellent and the priority questions on the mock exam are very similar to the prioritiy questions in the NCLEX. I took the NCLEX and failed FOUR times. I passed the NCLEX the fifth try thanks to God and Jesus Crist who supported me, my hard study and to Marlene Hurst Review. Best, feliz3
I took it again already on the 10th of August and past but thanks man!
congratulations to everyone who passed teh second time around!! I am just starting to study for my second go-round. i bought the saunders book and am hoping that helps. can anyone give me advice on how to study for the second time. I so badly want to pass and will do anything!! Thanks in advance!!
It's good to know that others are out there just like you! I say this because I have taken NCLEX 3 times! I will be sitting again in January and praying to God that I am successful on the 4th attempt! Just want some advice...I have been hearing negative talk about Kaplan Review and alot of positive about Hurst Review! Can someone give me their opinion? One thing for sure... I want to stick with one review because too many books are confusing me. I failed the first time with 180 questions, second 253 and the third time 75 questions. I am confused!!!!! I have learned after the 3rd attempt that it is not about how many questions you take per day but to make sure you understand the one's you take. I do feel dumb, ashamed, and embarrassed but I promise you all I will pass NCLEX with the help of the LORD! It just has to be in His time and not mines!!!!!!
