Trying to find a good accelerated lpn program

Hi. I am looking for a good lpn accelerated program. I stay in Romulus, MI so I am not far from Toledo and I have even been keen on the idea of going out to Findlay, OH.

Here are some of the schools I've already looked at, and I'm definitely interested in learning about more programs without a long waiting list

- Brown Mackie: I was quite turned off by this school. It's over 24,000 and it's in Findlay. And I did not read 1 good review about this school out of the hundreds that I read.

- Athena: they don't accept financial aid, only private loans

- Everest Institute in Southfield: The amount is well over 26,000 and in my

opinion that's ridiculous for an lpn program

- PSI: I am leaning more towards this school because it's not too expensive, they accept financial aid and it's in Toledo. Can anyone tell me more about this school ?

- Toledo Practical School of Nursing: They are on hold for accepting any new applicants, I've heard from my friend who is attending now that they may be closing due to funding

- Owens: I am looking into this school as well but I was wondering if the program was accelerated or if I needed to have certain classes already ?

So please if anyone can help me or introduce me to different accelerated programs I would be greatly appreciate it.

Why don't you go ahead and do a two year associate RN degree. The University of Akron has a program. If you already have a Bachelors degree you can do an accelerated BSN.

If you want a traditional LPN training I completed my Lpn in 11 mos at the Howard W. Nichol School of Practical Nursing in Green, Ohio.

I tried to google the Howard W. Nichol school and it doesn't come up. Do you have the website?

I am also in Michigan. The waiting lists are really long here. I am thinking of driving to Toledo. But the Everest school doesn't sound that bad. With the the cost of gas its not much more expensive than tspn,

Have you tried a Community College? Maybe Gogebic Community College in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The program has recently changed but check out the website and see if it interests you.

I live in Allegan, MI and all the colleges in MI have long waiting lists for any nursing degree with the exception of the online LPN to RN program at KVCC. I am thinking of going to Everest even with the high cost of tuition. At least I will be through in 10 months and can start work if anyone will hire me. I did all my pre-recs st KVCC and they told me the wait is 4-5 years. No waiting at Everest.
