travelling w/ 2-3 yrs under your belt??

just wondering how nurses with about 2-3 years of experience love/hate/loathe/think its the most awesome time of your life feel about travel nursing....

ill have a little over 2 years of experience in a med/surg ICU when my fellowship contract ends, and will hopefully have some PRN ER experience soon (fingers crossed that i get the job!!)

id like to start in Cali, as im from the midwest and hate being landlocked ;) i have friends out there and have traveled there before so im looking forward to getting outta dodge.

OMG again! :bugeyes:Honestly, Mississippi is not some place I have the desire to go (nothing personal) but for sure I won't go now if that's what the nurse to patient ratio is for the state. That makes it pretty hard for you to do your job and, I would think, makes you not to excited about going to work. Good luck. I think you should try travel nursing - if you can handle that many patients, you can handle anything.:yeah:

Oh it's not like that in every hospital I wouldn't think, just ours :) They don't use travel nurses because that's what they have the "float pool" for. But when you only have 6 nurses in the float pool trying to cover the hospital's staffing shortage...it leaves a lot to be desired.
