Because it's business, nothing else. Labs from Texas have to be sent to California or so they say. The chemical dependancy evaluation is also big business, I payed $800 after using a doc not on the states list after being approved. The other docs pretty much wanted $3000 to $6000 for a 30 minute face to face interview and 1 hour test. That equates to about $50 a minute if paying 6k. The board sees nothing wrong with this.

I did my daily check-in this morning and got selected. Every week I travel 5 hours to see my child 1 hour supervised at a counseling center in another state and then drive back because I have to go back to work tomorrow morning. I have been doing this for the past 3 years because I'm going through a bad custody trial. Anyway when I selected the quest lab in another state they only charged $18-$20 depending on which lab I chose. I wonder why it's less than half the price over there?!
