Traveling L&D nurses from Iowa?

Hello-any nurses originally from Iowa who are now traveling? Would just like to chat about differences, etc. Want to travel but just can't seem to make the final committment. Labor and delivery is my specialty BTW.

I am from Iowa, and by the end of this year, beginning of next year I am going to be traveling. I have never traveled yet.....but I have made up my mind that I am going to do this...I am having alot of questions myself...... so if you get some answers, please let me know.

Elizabeth-Have you been to the forum at Delphi-"Traveling Nurses and Therapists"? It is all about traveling and most questions get answered by other travelers speaking from experience. Where are you working now? Where is it you wish to travel? They have great advice on the agencies, contracts, etc. on that forum.

I really like working in psych.....I just need to get out of Iowa for a while. The traveling agency that I am looking at deals with Cali, Florida and Texas, and I really want to go to Texas right now, or in January when they have some start dates....hopefully. I am getting my app squared away right now, and trying to get all of my stuff together. I won't have to worry about my house (my mom will be staying at my house d/t the divorce). As for the rest....I really don't care...I just need to get out for a while. I like the fact that I can go to a place, they give me a little orientation, a day or two or a week, and I jump right in. (That's kinda what I do right now.) I have no major responsibilities, just a cat, and she can go with me. I just want to see the world.....or somewhere besides southcentral Iowa. (Can you tell that I feel a little trapped?)
