Travel...only in the Summer??

Hi everyone.

I would LOVE to get into travel nursing, ideally year-round.  However, I do have 4 kids (14,13,10,and 3).  And I'm Mom, I love to be with them and involved in all their activities.

So, my question is, is it possible to only take a travel assignment in the summers?

Any tips/advices appreciated ?

Thank you!

Of course. You may need to have a local job to keep your work experience current enough to travel and your staff job has to be willing.

Some hospital per diem pools have annualized shift requirements to stay current. That makes traveling three months a year (or more easy). Some hospitals are willing to waive requirements from like a shift a month or pay period if you ask and the manager goes to bat for you.
