How do I ask for a new recruiter when I haven't even joined the company? :/

Hello travelers,

So I'm planning on starting travel nursing this fall and in general have had some good experiences making connections with recruiters for the various companies I'm interested in. But...there is one company that, while I'm interested, kind of turns me off just because the recruiter I've dealt with seems really apathetic and just generally...I don't know. Not knowledgeable? Not interested? Not to mention I saw his facebook page and well...let's just say I don't really want to be working with this guy. Not professional. Not someone I trust or click with. Except on the emails he's sent, the signature "account manager/staffing coordinator" follows his name. Which leads me to believe he's the head recruiter guy.

I'm new to this so I'm not even 100% sure how the hierarchy goes with travel nurse agencies or how much butt I have to kiss/how professional I need to be when working with a recruiter, but (so far) I do still want to work with this agency. Just not with this recruiter. Is there a diplomatic way of asking for someone else or should I just go with a different company. I just get a gut bad feeling from this guy. :/

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That title doesn't mean he is necessarily the "top guy".

I'd suggest calling the main number for that company and asking for the name of the person who supervises the recruiters. If it's him say thanks and hang up. If it's any other name ask to be connected and ask that you be referred to another recruiter as you just didn't "click" with the first one.

Thanks for the good suggestions. I will try that. :)
