Travel nursing, is it worth it?

I always wondered if travel nursing is worth it to do as a career or is it better to only do it for few years to save some money, visit new places, and get experience. Is it worth it for people with kids and how they do with their schooling or they just leave and stay gone to make a living.. I'm considering all those factors before I decide if it's something for me or not

There's a travel nursing forum that may benefit you better, as far as advice.

Some people take assignments within the state and travel a few hours away from home just to work for 3 days, then go home. They group their work days together.

Others have left kids, some shuffle young kids around. I think the travel nurse forum is your best bet for more words of advice though. Good luck! :)

Sure thing. I know she had to travel more than 100 miles, but she was paid wayyyy better than staff nurses. Her kids were in their teens, and they had their father to care for them when she took an assignment. She worked for 12-16 weeks, took off, and would come back whenever they needed her and sign a new contract for 6-12 weeks at a time. :)

I know he used an agency, but have no idea what a good agency is. Again, travel nurse forum. Haha
