Hello everyone!
In a bit of a dilemma here, would welcome everyone's advice.
About to start a job as a new travel nurse for Kaiser in CA by June - another Med/Surg position. However, just received an offer from our PEDS ER. Would love the ER, have picked the ER but was told by my recruiter that I already am committed to Kaiser.
Still waiting for my CA license, haven't signed any contract, haven't completed my requirements. Verbally, I accepted the Kaiser job before the ER offer came in.
Pretty sure would love travel nursing, but would love the opportunity to learn something different than just Med/Surg, and so I think this is the perfect opportunity to switch to the ER.
Am I legally bound to the Kaiser job? It is unethical and unprofessional to not honor one's commitments so I feel really bad about backing out of the travel nursing job. But right now, it comes in second to the ER job.
Please help.
Thanks!

Without a written contract, you aren't legally bound to anything. If you want the Peds ER job, then write a letter to Kaiser stating that you can no longer accept the offer, and thank them for the opportunity.
