I am hoping to try travel nursing in the future.I am thinking of returning to correctional nursing because of back problems. I don't want to move every month. I would like to move every 6-12 months and live in all different states. Do they have assignments that last that long? Instead of having to clean my apartment I could just move instead. :chuckle

Most travel assignments are at least 13 weeks. You can find shorter ones but you have to look hard for them. Also, every assignement I have been on offered an extension at the end. At that point you decide if you want to stay another 13 weeks or move on. That is one of the beauties of traveling!
When you talk to a recruiter, ask her what are some of the assignemnts that are likely to run 6 months or more. They have a feel for the market in various areas. Many cities, espicially in Arizona, Fla, and California have many hospitals using travelers. You may decide you don't like one hospital to renew, and can find another travel job in or near the city you are already in so you don't have to change apartments.
Check around, find a good company, do a liittle research and start packing! Good luck. You are welcome to PM me if you have any questions I can answer.
