Travel Nursing?!?

I just have a few questions on how travel nursing works. Are you required to have previous RN experience? If not, would you recommend it and how many years? Are you assigned to just one hospital or many? Can you choose how long you'd like to stay in a location? Sorry for all the questions...this just really interests me. Any advice would be appreciated- thanks!!

i just have a few questions on how travel nursing works. are you required to have previous rn experience? yes, usually one year minimum in a speciality.if not, would you recommend it and how many years? depends on your specility. if you are going to work er, for example, where there are other nurses and docs present, you may not need as much experience as a chronic dialysis nurse, who may be the only licensed person at a facility. are you assigned to just one hospital or many? usually just one, sometimes, several. can you choose how long you'd like to stay in a location? most assignments are in incriments of 13 weeks. often, you can re-sign for another 13 weeks.sorry for all the questions...this just really interests me. any advice would be appreciated- thanks!!

my advice is to graduate, and start working. find a specialty you enjoy. get plenty of experience in it, and develop your skills. then, look into traveling.
