I am from Florida. I am thinking about taking a traveling nursing assignment in Dallas. I am what you call prime pool here. I have my own benefits and I make $32-$33/hr. That is day shift in an ICU.

I used to make more an another facility $37.00/hr but the dynamics of that unit fell apart and was emotionally toxic.

So I am used to make mid $30's/hr. Is it possible to make that in Dallas as a traveler??

I have also considered agency--which I have done at $40/hr but that was SO unreliable. Constantly getting cancelled.

Advice or suggestions??

Thanks :o):nurse:

From my experience working in staffing at an agency in Dallas the nurses who take actual contracts instead of PRN are the ones who do not have to worry about being canceled. The nurses that I know who work ICU tend to make around $40 and hour, some maybe $38. It all depends on the contract and the facility and benefits chosen. Good luck!
