Travel Nurse

Published

I am currently a sophomore, getting ready to apply for the Nursing school at the university I attend.

I have a strong desire to become a Travel Nurse, and so I was wondering what would be some great minor programs or things I can do to become prepared for travel nursing internationally.

There's zero you can do at this point, with the exception of picking up a new language. Becoming a travel nurse first requires considerable experience AS a nurse, as you'll be expected to jump into a new hospital and assignment with a tiny orientation (hours) to the unit...and you'll be expected to know your stuff. Not theoretically, as in what you learned in school, but actual hands-on experience.

So at this point, just get into school, get through school, pass the licensing exam, and get a job....then in a year or so, see what's available :)
