You will be assigned to a unit where you claim your home of record. Your employer will have to excuse you to go to drills and such or you could try to get a travel assignment at a base where you could do your drills there as a nurse while wearing the uniform. I know of people that travel several states to go to drill at a unit they like. That costs money and if you do not mind it, then go for something like this.
There is also another option called IMA, but I am not sure how exactly it works and I do not know if the AF has this. I know the ARMY does.
Hope that helps. Good luck.

So I'm a travel nurse that only works along the west coast. I'm interested in joining the reserves (AirForce or Navy) but don't know how that would work with me moving. Am I assigned to one unit and then brought in for drills/training? Am I not allowed to live more than a certain distance? Any info would be helpful. Oh, and yeah I plan on talking with a recruiter just don't have the time right now for them to "hassle" me nonstop if you know what I mean.
