How do I smoothly transition from a CNA to an RN in the same facility?

If this post is for real, you will need to go to school for RN education and pass, test for NCLEX and pass to get your license to practice, then hope your facility will accept you as a new graduate when you apply for a position.
Yes, this post is for real. I am graduating with my RN in 1 month and have already applied and accepted a position in the same facility I currently work as a CNA in.
Gotcha'. I didn't catch that from your post first time around. Congrats for your future RN career.
Since you're staying within the same place, the biggest hurdle you'll face will be that of a change in your relationships with your coworkers. Staff that used to be your 'superiors' will now be your peers. But the other side of the equation will be that staff who were your peers & equals will no longer be so. And all the other employees will learn of the change. But I guess you already sense that. So -
1 - suggest that during orientation, you stay close to the nurses for quick resources. But don't isolate yourself.
2 - please remember to assist all whenever you really can without JEOPARDIZING your 'nurse' tasks that will take up your time.
3 - respond to a CNA's observation in a timely fashion, most esp if it's seems a priority. They come to YOU now to report. Get back to them re their concerns.
4 - say 'thank you' and compliment, sincerely & honestly where appropriate. Don't be a 'phoney baloney'.
5 - go slow. Everybody needs to re-synch.
