Transferring colleges!

Hello everyone! I wanted to make this post because i am a little confused on how transferring works. The college i attend now i have almost completed all of my pre-req RN classes, but i only have a 2.9 gpa :/ i am moving and will have to transfer, i have heard that when you do your gpa is 0. If that is the case i am planning to take a class, and try my best to get an A, which wil make my gpa there a 4.0. Well thats the plan anyways! lol

If i were to do that, would i have a better chance of getting into a program? or will they see my old gpa, with all the classes for the pre-req already done, and base it off that??

Unless you want to retake all of your prerequisites, the program you apply to will see your other grades. Mostly all nursing programs require seeing your transcripts from all schools you've attended when you apply (for verification of prerequisite completion). I would recommend you still strive to get A's in your future classes though, as nursing programs are very competitive.

That's what gets me in A&P 1 and 2, my psych classes, chemistry, sociology, i have either As or Bs. Its because of the 4 Cs i have, another that is not related to the nursing major that ruined my GPA. If i retake those classes only, and got As in them at the new school would it change my chances? i'm not too sure on how a new colleges looks at transfers who do not have 4.0 before hand. It really is stressing me out :/ didn't want to retake all those classes at my old colleges, felt it would look bad.
