Transferring A License

I attend quality first career center in hyattsville Maryland today May 27,2016 I took my exam, applied for my license and got my certificate of completion but I wanna be able to transfer my license to DC. I've been told by my coordinator that I need the GNA course to work in DC but then I'm hearing that I don't I'm also hearing that I can take my Maryland license to the Maryland board of nursing and just take the test for GNA. I need help!!! I need to know if I have to take the course or cane I get reciprocity without out it or can I take my Maryland license to the MBON and just take the exam .... Pleas help
