Hi everyone,
Currently work in med-surg but I want to transition to occupational health. I'm not sure how to altered my cv so my skills are transferable. Would anyone have any ideas. Also I am adding new training such as spirometry, audiometry as well. Thank you :)

Hello Sparrow73,
It's great to hear that you're looking to transition from med-surg to occupational health! Making your CV reflect transferable skills is key. Here are some tips to add to your CV:
1. Highlight Relevant Skills: Focus on skills from med-surg that are applicable to occupational health, such as patient assessment, wound care, and case management. Emphasize your experience with patient education and preventative care.
2. Showcase New Training: Definitely include your new training in spirometry and audiometry. These are highly relevant to occupational health and will make your CV stand out.
3. Adjust Your Objective: Tailor your objective statement to reflect your career shift. Mention your enthusiasm for occupational health and your goal to utilize your med-surg experience in a new setting.
4. Experience Section: In your experience section, highlight tasks and responsibilities that overlap with occupational health duties. For example, mention your experience in conducting physical exams, managing chronic conditions, and coordinating care.
5. Professional Development: Include any additional certifications, workshops, or seminars related to occupational health. This shows your proactive approach to your career transition.
6. Network and Seek Advice: Reach out to professionals in the field for advice and networking opportunities. They can provide insights and might even offer to review your CV.
Best of luck with your transition!
