This is strictly a hypothetical question. After I searched for "transfer", etc in the forums, it seems like they are mostly about going between different levels (LVN to BSN, etc.) My husband's job is up in the air because of the economy and there are openings listed nationally in his field. I am just starting my clinicals this spring semester and we are planning to stay in this area, but if we would have to relocate, how transferable are the clinicals between state type universities? Anyone have any personal experience in this area? I am an older student with a previous degree and done with most of the prereq's (except those pesky ones they find at the end of your stay). I also realize that each school is different and it depends on the area of the country, and blah-blah-blah....so, anyone ever do this?

I hope I understand what you are asking but I am thinking that you are talking about transferring your nursing clinicals and classes into another nursing program given you are excepted to that program, etc. If this is what you are stating I am almost 100% sure that no nursing school in my state will transfer your nursing hours to another school and let you keep going. And i think that is every state and every nursing school unless maybe you get a transfer into that same universitys branch school where you are moving and it is the same nursing program. But I have never heard of them doing this. I really hope that was what you were talking about. lol

I haven't heard of nursing schools taking anything other than the gen ed credits. If I were you I'd stay where I am and finish the program then join your husband later. Good luck.
