Hey everyone! So I am interested in transferring to USF for nursing school but my gpa isnt the best out there! The nursing transfer counselor said that as long as I have a 3.0 i'll be just fine but I'd like to know if theres anyone that got accepted with a low gpa and what was it? Is it worth the 50,000 tuition? And if so, how did you pay for it? Student loans, etc.. Thanks!!

I haven't heard of anyone getting accepted with that GPA, but I'm no USF expert. I have heard good things about the program, but I would really research ways of getting through without $150K in student loans in the end. Any chance you can boost your GPA?
Yeah I'm working on that right now. I mean I have a 4.0 in the core science courses needed but by the time I actually want to try and transfer i'll only have like a 3.1
Have you taken the TEAS yet?
Some CSUs weigh your prereq GPA as high or higher than your overall, and they'll count your TEAS score with a lot of weight as well. It's worth looking into the CSUs in the area. :)
I haven't taken that yet just because I've been planning on transferring to USF only (which I know is a bad idea to narrow my options to just one) and at USF it's isn't required. However if I don't get accepted, I will still be at the JC and fulfill the remaining classes on my IGETC pattern to transfer to a CSU. Any CSU's you would recommend? I haven't looked into em
