Does anyone on this list have information on RN first assist programs, primarily for assisting with C-Sections? I tried searching the archives here without much luck, ditto with google. Thanks!

that was a quick reply! thanks. :) this website states one needs several years of or experience, however. i've seen midwives be first assists, and i doubt they have years of or experience. maybe i should ask around more at work.

Sure, go ahead, that might be best. I thought of posting it there, but wanted more people to see it. I have the idea now that maybe midwives who are first assists get their training another way, although I could be very wrong. I think I'll post to some listservs I'm on and if I get responses I can post them here if others are interested, too.
I moved to the OB forum for now. Maybe some will be able to give you a little more information.
