TPAPN

Texas Pier Assistance Program for Nurses....I Just completed inpatient treatment for alcohol. My drinking was interfering with my marriage and my personal life. At work I was always sober, somehow I managed to not drink much the night before work. Anyways, I was in rehab for 25 days and I learned alot and have a fresh outlook and will continue with the 1 year aftercare and going to AA meetings. What I would like feedback for is the liscense renewal question... have you been treated as an inpatient for alcohol/drug abuse in the last 2-5 years? As much as I hate lying, I don't want to say yes. I feel that this is private, I sought treatment solely on my own. I feel very conflicted about this. I would appreciate any feedback or personal experiences anyone may have.

i was told by my case manager that as long as your are in compliance with TPAPN you can answer "no" to that question. best of luck to you!!

Right, but I haven't contacted TPAPN yet, do I have too?

sorry- i didn't make that connection until you pointed it out. i think i was confused because that is how you started your thread. i see no need for you to contact TPAPN- you will be opening a whole other can of worms if you do. however, in this case, i'm sorry but i don't know the answer to your question. perhaps someone else will. you are to be commended on getting help before you ended up like a lot of us- in a monitoring program like TPAPN. best of luck!! i, too, look forward to the answer to your question!
