Torrance Memorial New Grad Program 2012

Hi all,I noticed that there was no thread for the upcoming program and thought I would get one started. I have had my interview and I'm not in the waiting game. Hopefully this thread can be a place for information and support as we all await to see if we have been chosen!

I heard that close to 1000 applicants applied total to the program, it might have been more than that at the time the application closed.

@Priprezzy I say that you have a pretty good shot with 3 years of tech experience.

What types of degrees does every one have ADN or BSN or MSN?

looks like they deleted your link:cry:. Ive got a BSN from LB state, graduated this past december. What about you?

but wow 1000 applicants & they only picked 57? I had to call and bug them to get scheduled for an interview (and when i called they had already selected the interviewees). *** ****, the coordinator for the Versant program told me they added more interview days just so they could take me (or so it seemed). im glad to hear other people were offered interviews on the same day and that they are not just interviewing me based on courtesy.

@beachblueRN: how did you feel you did on your interview?

oh yes it looked like they did, well just search in facebook ca new grad and you should find it.

i have a bsn and I graduated in December too. That was very proactive of you, it does seem like they added more interviews kind of late in the game, especially if the program is starting on aug 6th. Once you can search the fb page you will see that there are others that have interviews this coming week and the following week. When is your interview?

i felt like my interview went pretty well right after, but as the days go by I think of things I could have said better. I just have to wait it out i guess.

Hi beachblueRN,Wow over 1000?! That's crazy! And yes I did find the info on the new grad FB page. BeachblueRN may I ask how the panel interview was? Was it more behavioral or clinical? Thanks for any info! Good luck everyone!!

The panel wasn't that bad and to be honest I don't even remember, I was very nervous.

Does anyone know how many total applicants applied for Torrance's Versant Program? Someone on the FB page said that they're interviewing 57 people and hiring 30 so our changes of getting hired is about a 1:2 ratio

from what I read, it looks like they are interviewing more but just offering 57 "panel" interviews. Good luck to you all! crossing my fingers for a panel interview too!:icon_roll

Thanks! I just got out, it was weird...they scheduled me for the panels before I even went in for the interview...looks like everyone gets a panel interview. She also told me they increased the number of people they are hiring to 40! Wow! Looks like we have a really good chance :)

Omg! 40? That sounds awesome! I wonder if they also increased the amount of panel interviews too?When is your panel? I'm also wondering if the start date of the program will be pushed back since its suppose to start Aug. 6th and they are still doing panels next week?Hopefully we will be working together soon! :)

My panel is this Thursday. did you hear back from them yet? My friend was told on Tuesday that she will be in the ICU

Thank you for starting this thread! I had my panel interview today. Has anyone been asked to do a third interview? I was not but I know somebody that has a third scheduled.
