Here is was thinking the whole time, "Oh its on computer, they wouldn't dare use pencil and paper tests" "Not at this school anyway". BOY WAS I WRONG. The used the old 2007 edition of the paper Hobet test. So that means I drove 1.5 hours all hyped up cause I was gonna get to know my scores.....and then NO! Major letdown Ok done ranting.
FOr those preparing to test: The test itself, it said Hobet on the cover, they called it the Net/Hobet, whatever it is, the Net study guide is awesome. Its basically the same thing, questions are worded about the same, the study guide also covers all of the potential math. Lots of work with decimals and percentages, maybe 4-5 algebraic expressions, 1 ratio/proportion question, the rest was fractions and basic math. THere was 30 questions for math, 30 for reading comp.
Overall I think I did ok. The math did not throw me off a bit, the reading comp was never ending.
They told us that they are rushing our results so they can inform us whether we are in or not. Hopefully by next week, I will know.
Basically - that's it, no big deal, no real reason to stress out. And I could not have done it without all the tremendous help on the math studying. Its been a while for me, but it all started coming back.

That is wonderful, I take my NET test on This Saturday 6/27/2009 and is extremy nervous, I'm very bad at math but everyone tells me that ppl usually fail the reading over the math, and that the math is really easy. Ur post about the NET really was helpful though, I've been stressing all month hoping that I pass!!!!!!

I'm glad to hear you did well. I'm also glad you see that the study guide was the exact same thing as the test (basically)! :)
Hopefully I helped you in your studies and congratulations on getting it over with!!! You'll get 100% on the math section too, I'm almost positive :)
Darlisha,
I wish I wasn't just regurgitating what you've heard before, but REALLY...the math section is way easier than the reading. I know you'd naturally think that it would be opposite (I sure did), but when I got there....it was just amazing how difficult the reading was. There are so many options and it's one of those "pick the BEST answer", aka there's more than one right answer there and you have to use your judgement to pick the BEST one. It will have you second guessing yourself LEFT AND RIGHT!! It's very difficult. But the math section is very straight forward--no tricks or anything. And you know there's only one right answer.
If you need any help with math, please feel free to PM me. I got 100% on the math section for the NET (which I assume you know since you mentioned you were reading the other post on the NET). :) I just want to make sure you know I'm very willing to help out if you have any questions!! I tend to walk through problems a logical way vs. the standard formula way which I think makes it easier.

The Net math is crazy its one of those question answers that son't make sense. The math isn't that bad. Brush up on fractions and decimals God Bless!
The math is no big deal if you have looked over it. If I had not had bluechick's help I would have did poorly. The reading is worse than the math. But the only thing you can do to prepare for that is know what to look for: main idea, inference, theme and things like that. Good luck, I'm sure you will do great.

Good evening. After two long weeks of studying, I went and took the Net test today. I'm proud to say that I passed. I didn't score as high as I should have, but I did it. Now I'm ready to dedicate every thing that's in me to become the best nurse I can be.
