I am an LPN, I am re- taking some science courses becouse they are over 5 years old. I am trying to get in a LPN to RN bridge program. I keep on thinking maybe I should just stop trying to get my RN and be an LPN. Its so competative out there that, I am feeling hopeless. I am in my early 40's and have been trying all my life to get to this point now, I am just thinking all this is in vein. any thoughts?

Early 40s? You're a kid. I went back for my BSN when I was pushing 60. I didn't go to a bridge program, I applied as an adult/non traditional student at a local private university that had the best nursing program in my area. I ended up dropping out the semester before my professional rotation was about to begin because my husband got sick. Long story short, I never finished and am an LPN to this day.
If there is a will there is a way. Just avoid the scams like the College Network and the for profit/online colleges that will charge you an arm and a leg and care more about getting your money than your qualifications.
Look into your local community college or state university for the best/most affordable options.
Best to you,
Mrs H.

You're never too old to learn. I know LPNs going to school for their RNs in their 40s and 50s.
Go for it!!!

I'll be 42 this summer and I'm planning on going for my RN starting this fall. Go for it. We are not old. We are in our prime.
