Too many Mantoux tests?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of any disadvatages of getting the 2-step mantoux too many times. I'm on my 3rd 2-step within 9 months, not 1-step updates. Is this common?

I got my first 2-step in may of last year when I went into STNA(CNA) training.

2nd 2-step upon employment in a LTC facility, early october 08.

and now, 3rd 2-step before Medication Aide training...

What the heck?

I am not aware of any problems caused by multiple PPDs, but why not get a copy of your PPD record from your employer and while you're at it, copies of any other vaccinations you may have received. BTW, most of the PPDs I've been given were worthless as they weren't done right. Sad but true.

It is not going to "hurt" you to have this many within a period of 9 months (the dose put under your skin is not going to give you the TB and since you are negative each time, this just means that your body does not "react" to the dose).

BTW, your previous tests should be enough to only do a 1 dose test, if you give proof of your previous negatives. Go here, for more in depth info:http://www.health.state.ri.us/disease/communicable/tb/faq.pdf
