Too hard to get along with co-nurses....still an existing issue???

Published

i was trained to work as an or nurse 2 years ago. in the hospital that i worked at there was only one or nurse assigned. the hospital is trying to give chances for the staff nurses who are willing to be assigned in that special area so i volunteered myself. wooooooohhhhhh i got a big problem with the or nurse assigned in that area. too hard to get along with her. let me give you a little idea why....( we have an extra payment every surgery that we assisted ) and since i work in that area we got an alternate duty in or so less extra payment for her coz i used to assist in some operation. i can say that she really don't like me around. for whatever reason she has it's all in her narrow mind! that nurse is a lot older than me so i tried my best to respect her. waaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh it's a nightmare when was around. i can say that she's a crazy woman - she used to keep some forceps and some material things in the or and accusing nurses that they kept it and bought it home. nah! the reason why there was no nurses willing to be assigned in that area. i was so young then- a newly grad nurse at the age of 20. i can say that she's the reason why i decided to quit my job.

You need to make the nurse manager aware of the problem you are having with that particular nurse. Running away from a situation without trying to correct it isn't the answer. I realize there are some nurse managers who don't give a rats --- but others do. You may also want to speak to the head of Human Resources as to why no one wants to work there, until someone speaks up nothing can be done.
