I am a nursing student and I plan on becoming a travel nurse just as soon as I graduate with my BSN! (still another year away) I would like to know if there are any particular areas that I should try getting experience in before I begin traveling. Also, is it hard to get on with a travel agency? Since the field is so saturated, will I find it difficult to become a travel nurse? Any advice or anything will help me out even if it has nothing to do with my questions! Thank you for reading!
Specializes in ED, Med-Surg, Psych, Oncology, Hospice.
You need experience before traveling. Without that experience you can't possibly succeed at traveling. Another point I'd like to make is that you should not pick a specialty geared for travel needs but instead pick your specialty according to your passions.
