I am a Canadian nurse who recently received a job offer in Texas. I have everything I need for my TN Visa requirements. I am just wondering if anyone knows if the job offer is enough for the "Letter from Employer" requirement or if this is a separate letter that needs to be completed. If so, would this be a responsibility of HR or of me? Thanks!

The letter needs to be written by your employer and confirms job offer, I believe salary and duration of contract
Okay thanks! Do you think I will have any issues with asking for them to put a duration on my offer letter? Nursing contracts don't always work that way

you shouldnt have any issues normally TNs are for 3 years and it only makes sense for them to give you one for 3 years so you dont have to go back to border and re apply for one it does them no harm to put it for 3 years cause if they let you go they let you go its not there issue
Okay thanks! So much of this just seems so border-officer dependent it makes me nervous!
haha ya i know what you mean i was nervous myself when i had to go and get mines but as long as you have a solid letter from the nurse recruiter or who so ever is writing your letter and your visa screen and BSN degree you shouldn't have a problem good luck and let us know how it went when you decide to go
Thank-you I will! I'v read online that the letter requires "List of duties performed" do you think this is a critical component?
yea it is the job description must be very detailed on what exactly you will be doing if the hospital that you are working at if they hired a Canadian under a TN then they should know exactly what to write

Also, there must be a start date. I got turned away at the border because I didn't have that. The US gov website is not clear at all and you are right, its all hit or miss depending on the border personnel. That was a very stressful day as you can imagine.
Their website is the most unhelpful!! I do have a start date on mine however, I do not have an end date as its an open contract. So I'm very stressed about that.
You'll need an end date as well. Mine was somewhere around the 3 year mark. If your hospital has a recruiter, go talk to them. They may already have a template you can use.

Hi does anyone here got a TN visa with a job offer from staffing agency and Not a direct hire. Although in the job offer, they indicate what facility, etc.
