Tju Fact Program 2009

Published

Hey guys! I am looking at the TJU Fact program starting in May 2009 and was wondering what you guys had heard about it. I do have a question, do we HAVE to go on to the MSN portion or is that just optional? I dont want to right off the bat because I would like to avoid going into that much debt. Also, when do you think a good time to apply is? I will have some of my prereqs done by December, but is that too late?

Thanks for any and all help!

Hi!

I actually am in the process of submitting my application to jefferson for the fall 2009 FACT program. I think the MSN portion is optional, but their information on the website was unclear. Im actually in the process of applying there because their early decision due date is sept 15. I am going to mail everything tomorrow. If all of my prereqs transfer over just fine, i only need to take the second part of chem next semester. im currently taking chem I this semester til december and from what i understand, they let u apply even though not all prereqs are done, but u have to have them done before you start the program. TJU is actually my first choice...but considering all the prereqs u need and all the paperwork u need to do for their admission process, i sometimes lose motivation haha. i applied to drexel's ACE program too, and all they ask for is the app and ur transcript, so i sent that in already, but their due date isnt until october. i hope this info helped. best of luck!

I'm also in the process of applying (actually just submitted yesterday!). The Master's portion is optional, but you do take a few grad classes in FACT (presumably to get you thinking about the fact that you've already started, so why not finish? :p). I think you can automatically go on to the Master's program without reapplying if I'm not mistaken, but you are not obligated to do anything more than a year for the FACT program. Good luck!

Hi All,

I have submitted my application to TJU FACT program and had the opportunity to meet with an admissions rep this past May (2008). She indicated that you have 2 years after completing the first portion of the program (RN cert) to begin the masters portion. She also indicated that they are very flexible and can adjust the program so it can be done remotely. So for example if you are relocating to Philly for the program you only need to stay for one year, and you can do the masters portion online and clinical at a site where ever you are. They seemed very accommodating. The meeting that I had really initiated my enthusiasm for the program.

:nuke:

Is anyone still out there? I have had some trouble contacting admissions. I was requested to give an interview, however I am still waiting for a response to a few emails and a phone call. Anyone else having some trouble? :(

I just found out that I got into the FACT program for 2009! I am excited? Anyone else here who is accepted?

I also have been accepted to TJU's FACT '09 program.

You do not need to start the MSN immediately and you do not need to choose a specialty are until you do (other schools seemed to want a commitment & decision for specialty before you even start ?!, so....) but you do take 9 masters credits during this bsn calendar year.

I was under the impression that you have 1 year to start before you would need to re-apply.

I'm not sure if there are spots, but I think there should be & its worth applying because besides the essay the application process is smooth & they seem great in regards to organization & speedy resopnse. The curriculum as well seems very organized compared to other programs I researched.

I am honestly a bit nervous about the intensity, but its seems that they base your clinical rotations on the course content that is being covered & I think it may be beneficial to be able to learn & directly apply the information. And it IS 24 hrs clinical/week (I read 16 as well, but thats for the 2 year program)

I want to a general orientation & the resources & faculty I met seemed top notch! See you in May!:yeah:
