We are being told the BOP is moving to Hybrid Title 38 pay. I am curious as to what that will mean for our pay. We are told we cannot make less than what we are currently making now, but looking at the pay scales of close localities I am concerned. I was hired as a GS 10-10 RN on the Rest of US LEO pay scale , I have a BSN and 25 years experience. I am currently getting a 10% retention bonus. Anyone have any idea where that would put me on the Title 38 Step and grade? For reference, at GS 10-10 LEO is $83,868 plus 10% = $92,255.

What I would do, look up the VA closest to you. Let's say it's Miami VA. Look up the station number for that VA. The. Google title 38 pay tables, there's a page with all the stations, click the one for Miami and scroll through the document to find all the nursing pay tables (nurse 1-3) for that site. This may show a rate similar to what they'd offer you.
I have the tables, but there are so many grades and steps. I'm guessing I'd be a nurse II but I was wondering if someone could give me some insight as to where a nurse of 25 years would fall

I would assume you would be Nurse/Grade 2. And you would get put on the Step that is closest to your current salary. I would assume your retention bonus would not count for this (but I'm just guessing and could be completely wrong about that).
For instance, you said your current salary is $84k (and $92k with retention bonus). Hypothetically, if on your localities Title 38 pay scale a Nurse 2 Step 7 has a salary of $82k and a Step 8 is $85k, then you would be a Step 8.
If the salaries for Nurse 2 do not rise to your current salary, then I would assume you would be put into the Nurse 3 payscale.
That's what I'm afraid of. That stinks and is actually a pay cut then. Plus I currently get doubletime for holidays and can work OT doing custody posts if I choose, and I don't know if I can continue to do this with Title 38.
