Hi,
I've been a medsurg nurse for 3 years now. It's been hard because sometimes I have 8 patients, and almost always have 7 patients. I haven't wanted to pursue anything else and just try my best each work day and enjoy my days off. However, my unit is converting to a tele floor so I need this. I have a tele mental block or something though, I can't even identify PACs, which is the first arrhythmia I'm on. They ALL look different...I'll look at one PAC and think I understand why it's a PAC then I'll look at another PAC strip and it doesn't look like that other one! I got the 8 steps down. I have the ECG incredibly easy book. I understand the patho of a PAC and everything, I just can't identify strips. Any tips please? Thank you!

It take time and daily practice review of flash cards to get rhythms down in my experience then moving onto practice strip interpretation then RN practice tests with interventions required for each rhythm.
Take the time you need to master this skill. I loved telemetry unit.
