well as far as the hospital that we are assigned too, i dont know yet. somewhere in nw indiana. and i dont even know what type of work i will be doing, prolly mostly cna stuff? i think.

What kind of a floor will you be on? We started out on a med-surg floor and practiced basic skills- transfers, vital signs, bed baths, etc. It was mostly CNA skills. I'm in a 4-yr BSN program. Clinicals didn't really become interesting until the junior year. I would suggest taking time to relax right now. You'll be busy before you know it. The school should inform you of any supplies you will need.

Our first clinicals started with taking vital signs, giving bed baths, and doing basic assessments. We started in Long Term Care and moved to OB and then Med-surg, ED, ICU, Home Health/Hospice and so on. Clinicals got really challenging and interesting in the last 2 semesters, really, when we were expected to take a bigger load of more complicated patients and handle their various complicated pathophysiological problems.
