any tips pls for nclex RN preparation

With mothers like you, I suggest studying when your kid is asleep. Try to read content everyday depending on what time is good for you. Also, if your hubby has his day off, let him watch your kid so that you can devote at least 2-3 hours to study per day. If you lack content, I suggest reading comprehensive books like Saunders. Answer the questions found at the end of every chapters. Review and understand the rationale even if you got it right. You must get more correct answers than your mistakes. If you get really low scores, don't be discouraged. Instead, make this as a motivation for you to study more. Practice answering 50-100 questions a day. Lastly, pray. It always helps. Good luck! =D

NCLEX ABCDZ STRATEGY

A. Spend 1/3 of your time reviewing content you don't understand

B. Spend 2/3 of your time answering test question

C. Used most comfortable NCLEX review book for content.

D. Begin with the area that is most difficult for you or area that are least familiar

E. Use a good nursing reference manual or internet to find information

F. Define the disease in terms of pathophysiological process and understand the disease process.

G. Identify the early and late symptoms of disease

H. Identify most important or life-threatening complication associated with the disease.

I. Define the medical treatment.

J. Identify nursing intervention associate with early and late symptom of disease process

K. Identify what to teach patient and family to prevent in other to adapt to disease process.

L. list the area you need to review.

M. Answering question in a test mode will improve your test taking skills

N. Each time you answer question, check the number of question you answered correctly that will motivate you to read and study more next time.

O. Keep track of your score to see how you're improving in all area of your content.

P. If you answer less than 65% correctly, these is a WARNING SIGNAL!! Spend lots of time reviewing content and stop doing question on the weakest area

Q. If you answer 65-75% correctly your performance is improving and success is certain. Continue working with the content until your score is above 75%

R. Every wrong answer, identify why you answered it wrongly.

S. Practice 75- 85 question to known how you'll be prepared for NCLEX Exam and see how many you answered correctly

T. Do understand the question first, formulate your answer of hand and compare with the option given to see how close your answer!!

U. Anticipate Test question will increase in difficulty when you get the first question right!!

V. Do not panic if someone finishes before you!!

W. Do not CRAM CRAM!!

X. Remember that you have learned a great amount of nursing knowledge and the exam is only designed to determine whether you're able to practice safely @ entry level

Hi I am a stay home mom to, I study 9PM to 1-2 Am in the morning, cause of two reasons. One It is nice and quite at night and second I am not a earlier morning person. So this is how I scheduled my time I get up around 9-10Am depends when my baby wakes up then I spent all day cooking, cleaning, and watching my kid all day my husband comes home around 5-6PM after that we have some family time and dinner than after 9pm no time to waste so he put kid to bed and i am free to study, I am currently doing Saunder's 4th edition and Examcram Did you finish your RN here or India. Good luck to you and everyone who is taking there exam we can do this we can do this. :up:

hello to everyone......those who passed nclex-rn or preparing for it.....plz tell me some advice or tips.. for nclex-rn review....i am gonna write this exam soon...very busy house wife with kid....my exam putting me sometime in depression....when i am not able to study because of not able to go to library ......no baby sit.....no help from anyone.....plz plz tell me where to start n how much to study everyday....hoping for the best...................its hard for me to join any classroom course......

I'm foreign graduate nurse. When I start to study to get my accreditation for my nursing degree I thought I will never make it because everything was totally different except disease and medicine of course :specs: . I'm telling you this story just to let you know that nothing is impossible you need to trust yourself and believe in God If I made it you can make it. I studied from one book and this was enough for me to get through all of these tests and I got this suggestion from Suzzane's plan. Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN. I kept red that book till I memorize almost all information. I know sounds funny but I realize after a while that I remember all information.

I passed my nclex-RN last Friday it was my second try first time I failed with 167 questions and I was devastated I got depressed you can every bad stuff and I applied second time because of my stubborn friend she forced me to pay for exam she was believing in me more than myself and second time because I was so disappointed from the first experience I didn't even studied for second time and I went to take the test just because I paid for and I didn't want to wait any longer and you know I passed with 75 questions.(the screen was blue :eek: ) Just believe in your self even if you can find 2 hours a day to study this can help you a lot.Good luck and trust yourself.
