I just took my boards on Monday March 2nd. Here are my study tips. I did take Kaplan and I used saunders 4th. Kaplan is gives you the question bank, test trainers and the questions are mixed, but I do love saunders, because it break it down by systems and they have the updated nclex boards. Drop and drag, priority and delegation, pharm etc. Anyway, I watched all the videos with kaplan, I did all test trainers 1 to 7 twice, I did the entire qbank questions. although I did read all rationales I took notes. For example if the questions was about an air embolism, I knew all s/s and what interventions. I study that book everyday and I did my quesitons at night. Because I work 8 to 5 mon thru friday, I only did 50 to 80 questions a night, that's all my brain could handle. So, that was my re-inforced learning. I also made 3/5 cards for my lab values. Now I am not the greates test taker, but I did not find the board questions to hard. I had 75 questions and it took me 1 and 1/2 hours and I was done. However, do not take the boards lightly. I just felt that the questions from Kaplan and school was harder to me. Good luck to all those taking the boards.
