Tips for getting a job?

I am graduating with my associates in nursing in 3 days and I have just started my career search this past weekend and have already received several rejections (all at hospitals). I have also applied at some LTC facilities but have not heard back. I believe part of my problem with the hospitals is it is all automated and I do not have my license yet so I think that just automatically takes me out of the running. It is frustrating though because I have heard of many people that have gotten nursing jobs even before graduation. Like many new grads I am not looking for a LTC facility because I eventually want to be in the ER or L&D. So how do I get acute care experience?

Is it better to just wait now until I get my license to apply?

A lot of people say to start making connections in clinical but I am moving from Minnesota (where I went to school) to Florida where my family lives. So how do I make connections? Does it make sense to call HR and express my desire to work at that facility and let them know I will be getting my license soon?

How do I make myself stand out when the application process is all online and generic?

Any suggestions? Thanks!
