Tips for applying to Stanford New Grad

Published

Hello! I am looking for feedback from both those accepted and rejected from the Stanford new grad program. Did most of your colleagues get accepted straight out of school? Do you think you were rejected due to past job history?

I want to get into a CVICU. But I know that job is hard. My clinicals sucked because of COVID. So I am really self conscious about my skills. I was offered a medsurg job. So I would have 5 months experience before starting the new grad program. It seems like they are really strict on how long you practiced as an RN before applying.

I am just looking for advice. I want to look like the best candidate for the job.

Thanks!

P.S. what is the culture at Stanford. As an example, the med surg job would let me have pastel colored hair and have my tattoos showing. Is Stanford conservative? It doesn't really matter to me, but I can't find that answer on the internet.
